My pump just sprung a leak and I cant seem to see where it is coming from. It is rolling down right where the fuel distributor meets the main pump housing from the rear. I do not feel anything back there with my hands. I am wondering if there is a seal there that could blow out. I would imagine so. I am more looking for a manual to this pump (rotary bosch) my local Dodge dealers wont help with this. This is no small leak I am now upgrading my trucks name to the EXXON VALDESE.

There is no manual other than a theory of operations. It outlines general principles. There is a web site that has pictures of a tear-down and reassembly of a four cylinder Bosch VE. It's very close to the pump we have.

must be something in the fuel???? My pump just did the same thing last week!!!! Read up on mysterymans post. very smart guy!!!

Mine did the same thing, must be the pressure of maxing out the fuel pressure. :) There is an oring there that went on mine. I haven't repaired it yet as i had a spare one to put on. :-laf

I did not change anything on the pump it just sprung a leak. I pulled the pump and rebuilt it. I found the plate oppisite the KSB solonoid had a faulty seal. It was twisted and resembled a seal for the air condition systems on cars using R 134. The seal did not look like the replacement from Bosch so I was sabotaged unknowingly by someone that owned this truck prior to me.

Thanks Jason

Jason- the o-rings around the KSB is green and look similar to the AC orings.

Could it be the new ULSD? You know, the lesser aromatics causing old/ stiff seals to shrink back and thus leak?

Daniel

The seals that I got out of the Bosch reseal kit looked cut in an x shape for a lack of a better term. The orings I removed were round refering to the cross section. The piston in the bottom pushed on the seal and cut it. It may have been an oring from another company.
