A question for the pump experts. I took my truck to Southeast Power here in Daytona for oil change, valve adj etc. I decided to let them install my cam plate, afc spring and 3gsk kit. They did'nt want to install the gsk on the truck, so I agreed to have the pump removed and bench recalibrated. They said the gov springs allowed it to rev to 3800 and more on the bench, so they removed the kit and made internal mods supposed to give me 3000rpm. When I got it back they had not installed any of my parts. He said on the bench test that my TST#8 made less power at upper rpm's than his internal mods.

Am I getting sold a bill of goods? Should I go ahead and put my plate and afc in myself?I did one before no problem I just didn't want to do the gsk . I had a #8 in my 96 and it ran a lot stronger than this truck, but this truck has 3. 54's

not 4. 10's

Thanks

I'm posting to watch the answers , it seems to me that the parts guys do the research to make the parts work , so we'ld like to trust them , then afters yrs. of working on this stuff I like to think that recalibrating everything on a reg. bases [ Snap On torqu wrench ] is just a smart way to stay ahead of problums - so benching is just a nother word for calibration , and we'ld like to trust that also ,
Now its starting to sound like [ dirty word ] politics , both sides claim the other is wrong , I still do not beleave that 2 wrongs make a right.

It seems to me the only way you're really going to know is to find a good dyno shop and do some runs as it is to set a baseline. Then add 1 thing (plate, for instance) and do a few more runs. You could move the plate a bit while still on the dyno to tune it for best results. Then go do the next mod (gsk) and do another set of runs.

Now you'll have the data to prove or dis-prove the shop. No one on this site is going to be able to provide any hard data, just opinions (some are pretty good though!) since no one knows what the shop did.

And that's just MY opinion, for what its worth (2 cents ;) )
