EGT's & Timing

Hey guys, you have all got me thinking now, and adjusting the timing after adding on performance parts only makes sense. Hmmm, which way for lower egts, I don't want to advance the thing so much that it sounds like a hammer mill, but to those of you who have tinkered with the timing, what have you found from advancing it?

Thanks

When I looked into these engines in the early 90s Cummins had HP numbers right up to 300hp. Dodge specd. this engine at 160hp and 400ftlbs of torque. They severly de-tuned the engine to keep the truck together. I believe that the 300hp engines were using the P7100 pump. In our search for more power we are pushing the envelope as far as we can. How well all this holds up depends on how you drive your truck. I for one use it when I need it and not to impress someone so I expect to get at least 500,000 out of mine. I like the way it runs but I don't rule out additional preformance enhancements that my come up later.

Happy Trails

Keeno,

Thanks for the info from Power Wagon. I think I saw that before but I'm starting to forget things! Must be getting older:(

J, hope the info helps.
