hello all, pulled my head outta my rear & singed up! man alot of info here! just to clarafy (fyi my spelling stink's) pump timing is just a factor of rpm range it will be run @ the most correct? I was just wondering becouse after my injector install the best ive gotten was 17. 8mpg(empty driven nice 5-8 psi/550-650 egt) Just wonderen if 15 wood help me get even better? with the stock injectors it has gotten 20mpg with the same timing setting. would 15 be better with the bigger stick's? egt's are mangeable (ive got a 60mm upgrade in the works to help egt's some) thank's guy's;)

So i switched my timing down to 15* (4. 70mm lift for the 1968 cpl) from 4. 90mm & wow that made a huge diffrance in how the engine respond's!! & the same egt's to boot! there still a little high if you leave your foot in it through all 4 gear's until lock up. but the bottom end is rite now! so now ill drive it normal & see if mpg's also improve. hope to get the 60mm comp wheel in the next week er so to help combat about 200* of egt then ill leave it be. execpt the transmission a real billit converter is in the neer future! The whole timing thing is kinda new to me becouse when i bought the truck 3 yrs ago i ad checked to make sure the pump was never messed with, that was one of my selling point's but some one had set the timing way advanced like 20 somthing. now i see the earth moving torque the 5. 9l has. man im glad i discoverd this before the head gasket blew! always kinda wondered why my truck was kinda "noisyer"than other 12v's my friend's have.
