GM 4500/5500 in the works

Ford F-250

I purchased a used 2017 Ram 3500 Laramie Megacab 6.4 Hemi back in August. It was fairly low mileage at a decent price with lots of bells and whistles. Late in the negotiations I found out that it had been involved in 2 separate accidents. Both were in the front, the first under $400 and the second under $2400. I was assured that it was like new, with no visible evidence of any damage and that it was still under the factory warranty. I made the decision to go ahead with the deal and took possession the first of August. It was to be a backup vehicle to drive when my primary truck was in the shop, so I didn't drive it much. Well, about a month ago, I noticed the air conditioning wasn't cooling like it should. I finally got around to taking it to the dealer in the next town because the local dealer was about 2 months out before they could look at it. I hoped it would be something that would be covered under the remaining factory warranty. I found out today that the condenser needs to be replaced and the history of collisions has voided the warranty that I was counting on for another 12,000 miles. And the repair estimate was $1400. Are they correct in telling me that I don't have any warranty on any part of my truck because of the deer the previous owner hit? I asked the service writer, I guess that's what he was, if there was any chance that maybe there was a loose connection somewhere that leaked the freon. He couldn't tell me and acted like he didn't want to talk about it. So, I can pick it up in a day or 2 and pay $175 diagnostic fee.

Does any of your bill of sale paper work say that the warrentee is still in place? If so I’d be beating down the door of the stealership with a lawyer in your back pocket.
Otherwise you’re probably SOL.

It was an internet deal, done over the phone. The warranty was stated verbally and not in writing. In the ad on cartrader, it stated that it had navigation. It didn't. That was my fifth internet vehicle purchase and the first one I have had any problems with. In my searching the web on voided warranties, I have seen that a salvage title will void it, but not just repaired damages.

Sounds like two fishy dealers. I'd talk to a dealer that you think may be trustworthy, and/or ask FCA for a clarification. When the biggest claim is $2400, it had to be pretty cosmetic damage.

If the condenser was damaged in the wreck and replaced by insurance, then no, it would not be covered by the manufacturers warranty, maybe the body shop warranty, certainly not the OEM

I woudn't expect warranty coverage on anything related to the accident. I was told my complete warranty was voided. My research has revealed that that happens if it is sold with a salvage title and mine does not have a salvage title.

Go to mopar.com and register yourself and add your vins and get your warranty.

They are really easy to read and are never full of legal crap, it has to be written so folks can understand them from what I was told.

Here is a screen shot of one of mine on there.
