How about prices and shipping? Does the discount on the rubber make up for the shipping. I am also trying to get tires online and was wondering what is more economical, getting them local or have them shipped. Thanks

Dave

By the time you order from a place online and pay to have them mounted and balanced, it ends up being not so much of a discount. Although, it pays off if your getting a wheel/tire combo, because at least tire rack (I don't know about others) will mount and balance them for free before they ship them out.

Agreed, I found my nitto terra grapplers locally, balanced/installed, for the same price I could get online before shipping, then I would have had to pay for balance/install on top of that. I had to do a bit of searching to find a good local price, but it was worth the effort

I mount and balance and repair my own tires

Since I do my own tires thats a service I don't want to pay for. wait till they start mounting tire with air pressure sensors. . talk about spending some money

We recently bought a new wheel-tire combo for the wifes half-ton. We got them from tiresdelivered.com. They had the best prices we could find. Randy
