A guy I work with has convinced our boss that the dodges that we are geting come with a button that you can use for regen wich I think is BS. We have several fords that are having trouble and they think the dodges will be better. Any one heard of the driver controlled regen on the 5500s

We've got a 08 5500... no such button... ... truck now has 14K + miles and has been running well... If it has been going through the re-gen cycle the driver hasn't noticed it... .

We just sold a 2000 F550 with close to 500K... . it was the worst buying decision I'd ever made... .

NO

Class 6 and up trucks do have automatic or manual regen. A switch on the dash allows you to pick your preference but no such animal on my 4500.

I think we need a push button regen on all DPF equipped trucks. Several trucks I know that work out in the fields idle most of the day, and they won't get a chance to regen. These trucks are ending back up at the dealer so that the dealer can hook up a scan tool, force teh truck into regen, do a short cruise down the highway, and then they give the truck back. . This is happening every few weeks. If we could force regen these trucks, that'd be great and save alot of companies, alot of money.

Right now, I'm selling Diablosport predators to GM guys because you can plug the programmer in, and force a regen. These guys aren't even loading the HP programs up, just to force regens. That's nearly $500 they are paying for what could be a button or switch...
