With the lift pump in the tank, I was wondering what kind of luck you guys were having with push pumps. Will my Carter black pump be able to suck fuel through the stock in-tank pump?? I know my truck hesitates horribly with the TST on 5/5 and higher. Any info is greatly appreciated.

Peace,

Willie

I have been thinking the same thing since I heard about this. Hopefully the tank pump will just become a feed pump for the one you add. Remember that the 2nd gen guys saw higher overall pressure by running 2 pump than just a pusher would supply (similiar to compound turbos). I haven't heard of anyone trying it yet so until someone jumps in and gets their feet wet you may be the pioneer in trying this. Another thought, since your carter will be seeing pressurized fuel you may be able to go with a smaller unit and still come up with the same overall pressure. Keep us up to date if you try it since I'm sure a LOT of people are going to be asking this question.

Out of curiosity, what are seeing for stock pressures?

Haven't installed a FP guage yet. I know it isn't enough 2 support the TST though. Guess I'll B the first 2 try it. I'm gonne go with the Carter 16 psi pump. Will post results.

Peace,

Willie

As far as I know this can not be done. F. A. S. S. tried it and shuts down the in tank pump. From what I understand they are working on a way around the in tank pump and just running the F. A. S. S. by its self.

Did they happen to say why? Unless the pump has a sensor to detect head pressure I don't see any reason that the in tank pusher would shut down. Odd...

I don,t remember what they said the exact reason was, it was a couple of months ago, but it might be a saftey deal or something to do with the computer, but I did just call to see how it was coming along and the sexratary called back and said it would be approx 6 months before they had something for the 05.

If you don't mind me asking Davy, are you running a stock setup?? I don't know how your truck runs with the TST cranked up, but mine falls on its face. I'll just run a seperate pickup line into the tank, and connect the 2 lines before the fuel filter, i hope this will give it enough fuel. If anyone else has any ideas, they would be greatly appreciated.

Peace,

Willie

I think I ran out of fuel when I stacked the two chips and ran up a long hill. It made lots of power then quit for a split second right at the end of the run. I have not run it again since. I might put my fuel pressure gauge on tonight and go try it.
