Has anyone tried installing pusher fans on the cooling setup?

I'm wondering if it wouldn't help at lower speeds and particularly at idle to cool everything and maybe even bring your egt's down quicker.

thoughts?

Thanks.

If your stock fan clutch is good and the radiator is free of oil (and dirt accumulation) from the breather tube bottle you should not need anything else.

I ran electric fans on my old '89 and discovered they were nothing but trouble and did not do near the job the stock fan did. So, after an expensive problem with the A/C I went to a Dodge dealer and ordered new fan blads, radiator shroud, and fan clutch to replace the old ones I had thrown away. The A/C worked good again and the engine wear inducing temperature swings went away. Unless you have removed the grille pusher fans will not fit anyway.

actually, I meant in addition to the stock setup to try and move more air at idle primarily.

The stock setup is pretty good if everything is in working order and clean.

You dont want to go putting too much in front of the Intercooler and radiator. Or you will be losing effiency at speed. The pusher fans actually can block airflow and disrupt the airflow that should be going through the radiator and intercooler.

Something about CFM's and surface area. I forget the calculations and what not? But installing things in front of the radiator and intercooler can be very counter productive. Especially in regards to the intercooler.

What about a really nice functional hood scoop?, that down washes the ram air right on top of the VP44. I find ram air becomes effective above 40 mph and works really well above 60 mph.

I am contimplating a hood scoop to cool the VP44 as the frontal blower cooler is working well. Just need something more passive.

When parked, or at a stop light or in traffic it should help in controlling the under hood heat soak by venting heat upward.

Cost wise is is about the same as all the cooling mods I have tried to keep the VP44 temps in check.

I have one on my truck, a 16" very low profile to aid in air flow on the dyno. Will it help, you bet, will it hurt airflow going down the road without it on, you bet. It was very painful to install as I had to trip the bumper cover (it is a piece of junk anyway) to accommodate clearance, use tiny washers to shim the grill out just a tad for clearance so the hood would still latch. What would work better is a set of very thin 12" fans... ... . they would have to be no thicker than 2 inches.
