pusher pump help

I would like to have a pusher pump installed before I get a new turbo and injectors. The only one I know of is by Diesel Dynamics, I have a few questions.

who else makes a pump?

How loud are they?

Do i need one yet?

On a scale of 1 to 5 what is the install like?

You can go anywhere from a home-grown pusher pump, to a FASS or several other commercially offer setups - the pointer in my sig below or to the left, shows a typical Carter pusher pump, and there will be others here soon offering their own favorites - installation of most of these is easy enough for someone with relatively minor mechanical skills and a few common hand tools - congratulations on being alert and smart enough to recognize an easily correctable problem, and DOING something about it!

I'm kinda new to the site and trying to build a strong reliable truck. There's just not to many folks around were i live to ask. I get all my information from the TDR site and people like you ,thanks for responding,

I am running a Holley Blue back by the tank with no Carter lift pump. I also used the Wildcat Max Flow System to plumb it all up. I personally haven't had this set-up on long enought to claim anything other than outstanding fuel pressures across the board.



Noise wise a little louder than the Carter at start-up, but I like that sound - kinda reassuring!

I use a carter style pump that is 7# before that, I have a 30 micron Racor Filter and Water separator. The pusher and the stock one makes like 22 psi so I use a mechanical regulator that has a bypass return to the Racor filter. So now even the pusher has a small head pressure so both pumps will last good and I have a more consistant pressure across the board. around 12 or 13 psi.

Unless your truck uses no fuel or makes fuel, you don't have any pressure at the first pump. It is only drawing less fuel from the tank, but it is drawing some fuel, thus it will have a negative pressure. Jake

Yes, I was looking at the long term. One day ( when i win the lottery) I would like to install EDM injectors a better turbo and maybe the Edge Juice box when it finally comes out. I'm trying to do a little preventative maintenance. I don't think i have heard of anyone starving for fuel in an 03 or 04 but i just didn't want to be the first.
