I have pretty much decided that I need to add a pusher pump in addition to the in-tank pump that was installed by Dodge under warrenty. My truck is stock and I intend to keep it that way.

I have read several posts regarding the Fass system and paid careful attention to the one's that were having "problems. " I also understand that BD has a pusher pump but unfortunately not much as been written about it... either pro or con.

I also understand that the VP44 is sensitive to an "overpressure" situation. According to BD their pump should give around 20Lbs. at idle and around 10lbs. WOT. Am not sure what the Fass will do.

The BD pump is cheaper than the Fass. Am curious if the pressure the BD puts out is excessive with respects to the VP44?? Also since I have a 15# Autometer Fuel Guage will I have to change it or would it be ok just to have it "pegged" due to the increased fuel pressure.

Appreciate any input regarding these two systems before I make my final decision.

Get a 8 psi Carter 4600 off Summit for about $90 and you should have a good, solid 16PSI idle/10PSI WOT in a reliable setup.

I've got no experience with either the BD or FASS. Both are intended to be run standalone, not as a pusher. The BD is a Holley Blue pump IIRC, kitted up with fittings and the like.

Correction... ... ... BD's pusher pump kit is a 15 psi Carter.

Thanks Bob for the info. I understand the BD pump gets its signal to start on oil pressure after the engine is running to avoid hard starts. The 15PSI range doesn't seem to bad... as when you add it to the 4 lbs. I'm running now... it would still be under 20 psi.

i just had a BD pusher pump put on the rail in front of tank. Your right it starts on my old pump on engine and as oil pressure comes up it activates it. in the phamplet that came with the pump it says 20 to 28 psi if installed like i have it. but if you have the pump in tank then it would be 15 to 20 psi. there was no explanation for this. i dont know why they would make a pump that has too much pressure? robert
