Hello everyone,

I have been having some trouble with driving between about 40 and 55mph. The engine RPMs are all over the place, and I have already installed a kit that is supposed to eliminate electrical "noise" to the TPS. The problem didn't go away, and hasn't been getting any worse over the past couple years and 30 or 40k miles. It is really annoying though. I am curious if I should put a new transmission in it. I have been reading a lot of good things about Goerend and DTT on here. Have read some good and bad about ATS. Is this what I need to do? Should I look into something else? Also if I all out decide to rebuild or swap the transmission, what should I do for that?

Thanks,

Pick

the transmission in my 95 was doing about what you descibed every fifteen thousand or so miles i found the trouble to be the govenor preasure soleniod . when ever the transmission would shift out of overdrive the transmission temp lite would come on then the lite would go off and it would shift back up to overdrive . im not sure if the 47re has the temp lockout or not anybody know for sure but thats what hapend to my transmission and i put a new sensor in and the problem would go away for about six months the sensor would always have a lot of oil inside the plug probly could try and clean it and see if it goes away

Keep after the electrical noise. Clean ALL the grounds, replace the batteries, run an additional grd wire from the PCM to the battery. You should get the trannie rebuilt (DTT) but not for this problem -noise will cause the problem on any trannie.

May need to clean the TPS as well. Just need some electronics cleaner, and spray down the shaft of the TPS. Work the linkage back and forth to work it in.
