Rather than append 2 other lengthy threads on the blowby bottle relocation, including the "put a sock on it" thread,

I decided to simply update that thread with my current evolution/solution, complete with photo:

The photo shows the relocated bottle and outer wrap of a double thickness of old wornout socks. The bottle itself is a bicycle drink bottle attached to its mount, which is itself attached to the front swaybar on my truck. The drink bottle was modified by drilling vent holes as was the stock bottle, and cutting out he top to allow insertion of the lengthened downtube from the engine.

TWO goals were involved here - avoiding the mess the original installation created all over the front of the engine while still providing proper and adequate engine venting, and...

TOTAL containment of blowby oil, rather than merely allowing it to be dumped somewhere else - *I* don't appreciate the waste oil being dumped on my driveway or in my garage, and sorta assume my friends probably don't appreciate my dumping on THEIR driveways, either!;) :p :D

As it stands, this setup keeps the front of the engine, and surfaces I park upon, perfectly clean - the double thickness of sock material easily lasts the 5000-7500 miles I commonly go between oil changes, and is quickly and easily swapped out when I make those oil changes - as can be seen, I include a wire tie wrap around the breather and sway bar to head off any potential problems in case it might come loose while traveling... :) :) :)
