Put an EZ on the 03.

Well I saw the add in the paper and couldn't resist so I called and ended up buying it. It woke the truck up. However with no gauges I will have to remove it after I play a little until I get gauges. It is a definate improvement in throttle response and overall power. Has anyone dynoed with just an EZ installed?

Yes, I have had mine on a dyno with just the the Edge. brand new , right off the Lot, Dealer installed, 344hp/667tq to the wheels. (setting #3)



This was when I had owned my truck for about 2 weeks, received Top Honors for Box/Air Only(u400hp) @ Diesel Thunder in Spokane @ Shelley's.



The EZ is a very nice enhancement, depending on which box you have, you can have up to 6 settings for the "03". At the default setting (3) you still need gauges, even running empty!



You probably will not hurt the trans/clutch at this setting, but your EGT'S will surely get out of control.

I thought the EZ for an 03 only has 4 levels.

The first ones had 6 settings. The newer ones have 4 plus one "secret" setting along with what was originally level 6 which is now "off" so you don't need to remove the box to run stock.

I love the extra power and response. I'm going to have a hard time taking it off. Does anyone think I'd be OK running on level one for a week or two? I won't be towing.

I've had mine on for about 2 months as it came on the truck when I bought it. It's set on level 4. I haven't towed with it and don't have any guages. No problems as far as I can tell. I'm not a lead foot so I'm not worried at this point.

I can't stand to risk any damage so I sucked it up and ordered a set. Also now I can turn the EZ up and see what it will do.

Also I was wondering if anyone has done rail pressure checks with the EZ turned up.
