Any tips for a newbie? I am planing on using a sawzall to cut out the old one out. WD 4o on the hangers and turbo bolts. How hard it it to line up and do by yourself? What is the best way to get the bolts at the turbo off? Anyone have any problems with these two bolts? Thanks in advance for you tips.

Yes got it. thanks, those two turbo bolts are a little scary. I don't have an impact gun and will have to crack them loose by hand oterh than that a piece of cake. Did you do your and did you have trouble with those bolts and how did you get them loose. Am I being paranoid?

JWilliams3: I called a muffler shop and they will not put on a new 4" if it has a cat and mine does so I am stuck doing it or looking for someone who does not care.

The first step would be to pray for sun if your going to do it outside :D We are supposed to have rain. All the bolt on kits are a little more work than is claimed. There is a bit of a knack to line everything up right, there will be some cutting with most kits and some welding is a help with some kits also. If you are handy and have some exhaust experience jump right in Oo. It is fairly rare to break the bolts at the turbo, but some people have no luck.

Thats an idea , just hack off the pipe and drive there with a shorty stright pipe. I heard a commercial that said ... if we hear you coming we will work on your car first... was that midas?

Thanks, I didn't think there should be... but I looked under there with untrained eyes and you know what they say... if it walks like a duck and talks like a duck it could be a resonator... too cool, that leaves the muffler shop as an option again. Thanks Scott

Exhaust

Just spray the (2) bolts with some WD-40 & you'll be fine. I've done (2) of Rips 4" & had no problems what so ever... ... Other than on my brother in laws short bed we had a bit of extra pipe.

Piece of cake! Don't sweat the small stuff.

The Best Penetrating oil i've come to find is called "PB Blaster" comes in a yellow and white can. it's just amazing what this stuff will free up. give it a try, you'll be impressed. Just my . 02$

I'll second this statement. We use it religiously where i work. Lot's of rusted bolts and nuts do to the salt year after year and it breaks loose pretty easy, this stuff really works.

I'd go the PB Blaster route too, I just did my exhaust a few weeks ago and used it myself. It's still freezing up here and I have only my driveway to work in so I took it for a quick ride, got it up to operating temp and when I got it back gave the two bolts a quick shot of PB after 5 minutes or so of engine-off cool-down. Still took a little muscle, but they did come right off. If you've got a pipe to shorten, remember, measure once, cut twice... or something like that.
