How are your EGT temps on the non intercooled pre 91. 5 model years? I still have the stock injectors on both of my rigs, and while I was moving to Arkansas I pulled a very heavy load (approx. 20K truck and trailer gross) On some of the steeper grades, my egt was reading a little above 1350, and boost at 25psi if I kept my foot mashed to the floor. I was holding this temp for up to five minutes on some hills. The pump is at stock settings. If install these injectors, and crank the fuel, I'm afraid I will roast it.

Thats about the temps I get with the BD's. I wouldn't stay above 1300 too long, thats pretty hot, they are rated for 1250 Pre-turbo. Any more fuel=higher EGT without cooling the charge air, and that is where I sit. No more fuel till I get it intercooled.

DJP,

You are running way too hot! Is you exhaust free flowing?? The injectors will push you
over the edge and cause much damage without an intercooler and free flowing exhaust.
Be assured your engine will not last at these temps. I would start with the exhaust first, free flowing air filter, then turbo housing upgrade, then intercooler upgrade before the injectors. I have seen 20 hp loss on the dyno with a dirty air filter!

I forgot to mention in my signature I have a freeflowing exhaust (strait pipe) and a K&N filter. I only saw these high temps when I was heavilly loaded, in fact on one grade, I saw it creep to 1400. If what you say is true, I should have long since fried it. Maybe my pyro is out of calibration? Anyway, I have not cranked the fuel, and I still have the original injectors installed. At 215K, I guess I'm long overdue for a new set. When the truck is empty, I never see the EGT (or should I say TIT - Turbo Inlet Temp. ) get much above 1150.
