I was under the hood and noticed that the fitting my EGT probe is mounted in was loose. I was going to take it off to eyeball the probe and noticed that I got about half a turn before the fitting felt like it was being tightened down. I tried a couple of times, but don't want to risk having anything break off. The fitting is brass and I have no reason to take the probe out other than to tinker. What do I do if I need to take the probe off. Any recommendations on the best way to go about it without snapping the fitting. Th engine was run this morning and has sat all day. Should I try to remove it when hot? Looking for suggestions. Thanks in advance.
