Pyro probe cleaning

Is there any need to pull the pyro probe and clean the soot off it every once in a while? I imagine that it could get quite a buildup on it. Just one of those late night thoughts... Thanks!

won't get much of a buildup on it... thin layer... everything else gets blown/burnt off

Cool. Appreciate the info. Have a great Turkey Day! We should do a poll- do you cook tom in the oven, deep fry, smoke, other. I would guess a lot of guys here smoke their bird, at least on the way home from the store. Oo. :-laf
