Hey all,

I finally got around to installing my pyrometer tonight. It does not work. The light works. I used the cigarette light fuse since the ignition was a bit harder to get to. I guess I will check connections tomorrow.

It is pretty simple that is why I do not understand why it is not working. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Depending on the type you have, you may have reversed the thermocouple leads during installation. That's a common problem on the first installation.

I agree with Alan,I did that same thing. I had the wires reversed because I thought the red wire was + and the yellow wire was -. Another common mistake guys make is leaving the spring clip that touches both + and - posts on the back of the gauge.

When I installed my pyro I hooked the wires up according to the diagram and it didn't work. I switched the wire around and it works fine. It is not unusual for the probe to have the wires crossed.

Covington? You just up the road. Hopefully this will take care of your problem. If not, bring it to Lake Sinclair this weekend. I'll be glad to hook a brother up and fix his truck over there. :D :D

Thanks Alan,

Hopefully this will take care of it. I may just save that favor when it comes time to hook up the 2661 the electric fuel pressure guage. But still waiting on it to come in.
