pyrometer probe placement

i thought i read or was told somewhere that the pyrometer probe needs to be placed in the rear runner of the manifold, is this so? it runs in my mind that it has something to do with the wastegate or decreased airflow in the front 3 cylinders in a cold engine? please straighten me out here!!!

Either the front or rear three will be ok. The wastegate works on the rear 3.

Does anyone have pics of their Pyrometer tapped into the manifold i am getting ready to install my guages and kinda need an idea of where to install it
