Placed order 3-24-03

D1 status 4-1-03

KZ status three days later

Dealer called today, truck still in Vera Cruz awaiting paint analysis. Might be there another month.

What to do? Wait it out? Cancel order and hold out for an '04?

I am wondering what I should do also, as mine was ordered feb 25 and is stuck at a railyard in maryland awaiting testing and I really need to have a truck soon!

What really tics me off is I know two people who ordered after I did and they already have their trucks

I guess I should have kept my old f350 psd

Strange, my QC was ordered 3/30, delivered to dealer 4/30... made in Mejico as well. Maybe the paint color? Mine is white.

I ordered the graphite.

From reading old threads, it appears that if your truck fails inspection, it's sold at auction rather than repainted. Then you get to reorder and sit through the waiting process again.

Short of waiting for the dealer to call, is there anyway to find out if your truck has been tested yet, and what the results are? The last time I called DC, they hadn't had an update in over two weeks.

How long should one wait before insisting that a new truck be ordered? I understand that the deadline for ordering an '03 is approaching fast.

My father in law had the same problem. Rather then wait for the QC buy off the dealer ordered him another truck... s/b shipped out on 5/9.

I just called DC customer service and learned that my new truck was loaded onto a car-hauler on the 3rd in Kent, WA and on its way to the dealer in Aberdeen. I'm hoping to hear that it has arrived today or tomorrow! Oo.

Really looking forward to driving it and experiencing the things I've read about on this forum!

I think I would tell the dealer to either order me another one or I would cancel my order and go buy from another dealer. Seems obvious that if your truck is part of a quality hold for paint that you suffer not the dealer or DC. Not the way it should work. Why would the dealer or DC care if you are waiting forever  Like the saying goes "God helps those that help themselves" ;)

For curiosity's sake, I called DC again today. They had gotten their first update since 4-15-03 and said that actually the truck wasn't part of the QC holdup. It's been released, but is still in Mexico waiting to be placed on a cargo ship bound for Tampa, FL. Who to believe?

On a good note, my trade in price is locked in, so I'm racking up miles free of charge on my Avalanche.

Monday- dealer says truck held up in QC, maybe another month.

Tuesday- DC says not hold up, truck in Mexico, waiting to be loaded on a boat

Tuesday PM- get home and wife says "the dealer just called, your truck is here"...

:)
