Hello, all:

Well, after careful consideration, it's time to start BOMBing. I just can't wait for the MAD ECM any more.

I think I'm going to start with a timing/fuel box like the Comp but not pierce the pump wire yet.

I'm also going to need an air filter. Which is better: the AFE Mega Cannon setup or the Scotty 2?

Later will be exhaust and perhaps injectors. It's time to begin shopping around for the best prices.

Who has the lowest ones for the Scotty 2, AFE M. C. , and Edge Comp?

Any other suggestions from experienced BOMBers?

TIA

No gauges, then no Bombing... ... ...

After that check the links section of this website for a bunch of different vendors... . look in engine perforance section.

Ditto on the above, gauges first, then BOMB on. You can get the AFE filter in the Scotty @ system from these guys ... . http://www.wildcatdiesel.com/ . Another alternative is the BHAF, which works quite well with what I have. I'd check with either Piers or Auto Wurks Diesel for pricing on the comp. box.

I am my own warranty station...

... not trying to rain on the parade here, but don't trash the engine warranty if you can't afford to repair any "problems" that might crop up. These engines are sturdy and fun to BOMB, - until something flies apart. If it does, you can expect to be paying a LOT more for repairs than with a SB gas burner. If the warranty isn't an issue, then Have Fun.

Top Fuel is correct and I guess I should have said that first.

I just got done reading a long post on another site about a guy with a stock auto transmission and an Edge Comp. Everyone told him to upgrade the transmission first but he did not and now he is very angry and trying to get Dodge to replace his transmission... so remember this, if you can not afford a $4000 dollar short block or $1300 injection pump it would be better to stick to the light stuff.

With that said Bomb on, but before you hook up the Comp get a new clutch.

The only reason I'm not "currently" bombing is because I don't know when my clutch will let go. Bought it 10 months ago and it drives fine, and pulls small loads great (I don't do any heavy stuff), just waiting for it to go so I can justify $600 on a South Bend Con O. ;) :D

Then its PLAY TIME! Oo.

Torque plate, Mega Cannon, GSK, maybe someday possibly injectors :-laf

Gauges

Speaking of gauges, would I be better off considering a PM3 or Blue Chip FMS box and getting them built-in? Are these readings accurate?

From what I have seen the gauges in the boxes are accurate. My complaint is they are so small and hard to read. Personally I prefer analog gauges that are in plain sight for easy reading.
