2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Quad 4x4-which front axle seal kit to use?

Mechanic replaced ball joints and U-joints up front and unfortunately drivers side axle seal must have been damaged upon reinstall because it hasnt stopped leaking since so I figure I need to replace axle seals. I am going to go with one of the Quad 4x4 kits, but there are two that would work for my 98. QK4620-Precision machined installers to allow for adjustment of seal depths for worn axles, OR, QK4698-Precision machined depth controlled installers that stop at original depths. Truck has around 200k, so I would imagine I need the first one since my axles are worn?

i got 200k on mine the axles are fine seals were just shot. used regular ones from the auto parts store. you really don't know unless yoou look at the axle

As I (painfully) recall the drivers axle seal has a garter spring that can be dislodged inserting the axle shaft. Need to open the pumpkin and drop the carrier to replace (right side is accessed inside the CAD). If fact now I never would move the shafts in/out without first opening the diff cover to check.

I did my 97 a few months ago and used the one for worn axles QK4620 at about 235K miles. No leaks. Yes as DieseldogHouse said you must pull the front diff ring gear to get drivers side seal. Of course I did both seals. That Quad 4x4 worked real slick. I'm glad I used it. Seach on my user name for a thread I posted.
