Anyone seen Intellistick yet?

Thats how we fell into the last "Next best thing". If I had only waited for another year I would never have owned the 2nd gen "S... ty" word. :D

YUP - sorry to say, the Smarty is the absolute FIRST aftermarket power adder I have been disappointed in, that provided all the shortcomings I suspected it might - and didn't live up to the hype and aftermarket service and "future upgrades" as promised - it's ALSO the first one I gladly REMOVED from my truck, and passed on to a buyer with lower expectations than I had - I sincerely hope he likes it better than I did!. ;)

Along those lines:

The Adrenaline reduces fueling in 1% increments rather than in power levels as the other manufacturers do. If you are throwing alot of fuel at it as I do, you are heating up faster than the box is adjusting. I have towed in PL05 with no egt troubles at all, gauge stays at 1250*. I was testing the box hillbilly style, full monty PL10, pedal to the floor & only seeing 1400* while towing. Once I saw those temps, I eased out of it so that the box can do its trick. It is hard to explain how it does without seeing it for yourself, all I can say is it definately can't be felt because the defueling is so smooth, not just a drop in power like most boxes. He does have programs that don't defuel for sled pulling/racing.

Thanks for the detailed reply - sounds like it would work great in a setup like mine - slightly smaller 1. 6 injectors, and less aggressive on loaded acceleration demands - plus, possibly a later program "adjustment" that clamps slightly more aggressively in controlling EGT.

The fine line in programming for EGT/fuel control, is to keep from falling on it's face when the EGT limit is close, or passed - not good to be in a passing situation pulling a load uphill, then suddenly lose power!:-laf

If you had a Drag comp/stacked with Smarty, that is what this thing feels like on PL10. Imagine running your Smarty on sw2, Drag on 5x5, but this box has cooler egts, less jumpy pedal & less smoke. I sometimes have to remind myself that Smarty/Drag aren't installed & there is a new box on there. My friend has a automatic & he loves this box more than his comp & says that it is more fun to drive. Quad is gonna start making some more aggressive files with different programs for auto/manual trucks. As if the 52 on the website aren't enough. :-laf

But considering that the new box cuts fuel to maintain 1250*, isn't this expected?

Quad has programs which don't defuel & still less smoke. The ones that do defuel are defueling in 1% increments, not shutting fuel off at 1250*. I can hit 1400* just like I would with my Drag comp, but it won't stay at 1400 like the Drag would. It slowly comes back down to 1250*.

Here is a quote from Quad that he posted on DTR answering a members question of "when are you going to be shipping the Adrenaline". Quad posted this. "We are changing a couple of parts out on the board to make sure the TT is 110%. As soon as we recieve them back we will start shipping.

Our wonderful fuel pressure sending unit manufacturer delayed our shipment of sending units so we are sending them out without the sending unit. There is a card going in them with a link so that you can fill in your shipping info and serial number and we will ship it to you as soon as they hit our door.

It stinks but, I hate to keep pushing it out for that. "

Looking good guys!!!!

my buddy slade is trying to figure out if he wants the edge juice or if he should wait to get the quadzilla. he really likes the outlook minotor on the edge, is the quad gonna have the same kind of feature? does the quad have the turque converter slip senser that the edge offers? what other safety features does the quad offer other than defueling? answeres would be great, so far he just has the afe stage 3 intake and a 4" straight pipe. it's an 06 5. 9 auto mega cab. thanks guys
