Got the Quad Race box from Kyle at Extreme Diesel Performance.
It took about 20 minutes to install it. I eneded up mounting the switch in a VERY discrete location. If you take the panel that is under the steering column, you will notice that there is a hole on the metal cross bar at the bottom. Just the right size for the switch. No drilling involved. I can adjust it on the go, although it does require some slight contorting!
I am willing to pay that price to have a switch that is totally invisible, unless you crawl in the footwell on your back!
I love that box. The 60hp is enough of a kick to daily drive, the 100hp takes off, and the 130hp makes that truck FAST. I did a roll on in 6th gear at 70, and I hit 90 before i knew it, with the truck pulling like a freight train. Nice.
Now, I am waiting to receive my AFE and I am ordering a muffler this week to cool the temps down a bit. A WOT standing start on the 100hp setting got my temps up to 1400 in a hurry.
I am wondering if I should get a fuel pressure gauge to monitor the rail pressure. I am curious as to how often the box will pressurize up to the limit, in each setting. As in, is it "safe" to daily drive on the 60hp setting, or even the 100hp?
Now, I just gotta learn self control. Oo.
