I would just like some general feed back from anyone running the Quad race box. I am debating the purchase. (tired of waiting on edge and too many negative posts on the new TST version)

I have the quad race box on my 2004 305/555,very happy with it so far. I have only had the quad box installed for about 3 weeks, this box is the real deal, smooth, great power and 2-3 MPG gain in the 60 HP setting (running empty Hand cal). I have never ran the TST. Good luck on your choice. coobie

Ya, what coobie said!! Plus I have mine stacked with a VA duration box and it is still smooth as can be. Average around 21 mph hand calc at 75 mph cruise.

I've had the 100hp box, and now have the race box.

I really like the race box better. Definitely hauls, and is very smooth. In fact, my truck idles better (just like stock) with the race box than it did with the 100hp box. The 100 box had a slight idle variation. Nothing like an EZ, but noticeable. It didn't affect performance though. Both boxes work as advertized, lots of HP and no codes.

Drives like stock. You won't know the extra power is there unless you ask for it :D

i will say after all i read and searched this is the box to get! 4 1/2 bones! give kyle at extreme diesel a call! mine was in the mail the same day

this box rocks and i would not suggest it but i put it on the 140 and it held but would advise keeping it on the 100hp and 60hp. this box blows the edge ez away! and you get adj. in cab less egts and extra 70hp for less money... . this one is a no brainer

I ran one of these boxes. They build alot of egt's for minimal power. I could easily hit 1400 or 1500 not even running hard. I have a turbo and 5" exhaust.

I've been running mine on 100hp, no problems.

Not sure on mileage yet - I drove south on 35 through KS and OK today and had a stout headwind, so mileage was poor, around 15. 65, but since I've been back in TX, it seems to be better.

The 130 setting really torqued off some chick in an expedition with her windows down:D

rmcelroy- you are talking about the VA and not the Quad correct?

I'm not too sure about "minimal" power. With just the VA box on 50% it's like 65 hp and 130 tq with no egt issue at all. Even running just the VA alone at the full setting the egt's just peak out near the end of a run around 1350*. Now once I stacked it with apressure box it got really warm on the top end. With my old EZ on 3 and the VA at 100% the egt rose about as fast as the tach!

I have ran one on my 05 for about 6 weeks now, race version, I like the way it makes my truck sound, power is very smooth. also seeing a 2 to 3 mpg increase in the 60 setting. Like to use 100 as a daily driver around town. EGT's stay down pretty good and I have towed in the 100 hp setting. I use the 60 setting on highway for mileage. I have enjoyed it and the price is great. recently helped a friend put one on his truck after he drove mine and liked it so well. :D

I was curious about that vs the 30 setting on the 100hp box. is that overhead or hand calc?

rmcelroy- I thought that was what you meant, probably why the C3. 2 does well with the Quad as a stack if you have the turbo to handle it.

I was running mine on 60 thinking it was just right for the 48re. One day i put it on 100 just to see what wpould happen and the mpg went up 2/3mpg on average and no problems at all with the trans. Now I keep it on 100 all the time. :)

I just got back from a round trip from SF Bay Area to Graeagle, CA, a total of about 580 miles with elevation changes from sea level to 7k, down to 4k, and the reverse.

I was on the throttle most of the way, running 75+, and hammering the throttle on the two-lanes off the main highway (about 100 miles). I ran on the 60 setting except to pass in a few situations. I thought for sure my mileage would be dismal.

I just fueled up and hand-calc. I came in at 17. 85 mpg. Next time I may set the cruise at 70 and see how good it really gets!

Surprised me a bit, as my mileage has sucked since I installed the 35's. Bone stock the truck did the same trip at 18. 5, but at 70 average.

Mileage is hand calc. the over head is probably 15% high or more. looks good though, I tried the higher settings but did not see any further mileage improvement myself in fact it seemed to be reversing to me. those higher settings sure are fun to play with occasionally though... . :-laf

Hokey
