$4395 for Quad4x4's NV4500 kit :{ :{ :{ :{ :{ :{ :{ , guess I shoulda got one a couple years ago when they were like $2600...



That's like a whole nother 1st gen!!! Wonder if Standard Trans reman's are worth the $2100? Come complete? Send your getrag back for core?



Ok off rant... What's on everybody elses wish list??
 
I want me a HTB2 and a new set of shocks and springs. Would like a new set of wheels and tires too, but I'm not holding my breath. :-laf

You can do the NV4500 swap for much less. Just have to be patient. It took me over a year to amass the parts to do it. I spent right at $2500 including a brand new transmission and a new clutch.
 
Wish list. Ok, how much room do you have. Oo. :D I have officially begun redoing the crew, so I need ALOT of parts. As for your trans delema, I just picked up a 4000 mile pull out NV5600 for $2600. They are out there, as BJ said, be patient and keep looking.

That would be enough stuff to get the chevy on the track, the 440 wingin' 7000rpms down the track, and the 90 setup right for wheelin in the timber.

Uhhhmm, Bill are you giving up on the Getrag? Been reading and it doesn't sound like the NV 4500's stand up much better to abuse then a good getrag... You've been working on a VE fueled hot rod, doing it your way, why not keep in the first gen mindframe and build a Getrag to take it??

I would like a working tailgate and driver side door hinges! LOL everything else is tight and dry. Ordered my 3200gs today, also picked up 4" elbows and a 6' straight piece to start on the ehaust. I was at a site the other day and saw you could buy that piece of exhaust that goes up around your crossmember and t-case in 4" Anyone recall which site this was? Or has anyone made one, i do recall its a tight fit in there probly not a mandrel bend?

Yeah yeah, I should 'think' about rebuilding my getrag. I don't think a 4500, or Dana 80 would be considered abandoning the 1st gen mindframe . . too much ;) . More than likely won't go the nv4500 route, just venting :p .
 
Yea,

I've been seriously considering the NV4500 conversion from 518 I found a setup for 3495. 00 at High Impact. . most everything but a pedal assembly. I could recoupe some of the loot by selling my 518-HughesTC & factory HD transcooler. might have to wait till Jan or Feb though... . Might just keep my eye out for a first gen with the 4500 conversion already done?...

Well I know I'm getting a new headliner for X mas. . Does that count?

I agree with Miller on the trannys. alot of guys sound like there having plenty of trouble with the NV4500 too. Stomp still has a getreg, thats a good enough reason for me to keep it. I think mine will need a rebuild before my christmas list comes true but The parts are pretty reasonable I thought. Bill, hows that thing run with the new turbo anyway, how much difference did it make? good luck to everybody on there x-mas lists :D

Well I doubt I will get any of these for Christmas, but here is my list...



NVG4500 (to replace the A518) and related goodies.

NP205 w/29 spline input shaft

New bench seat.

LineX over the rail bedliner.

New shocks for all four corners.
