Compound turbo question

Viscous engine damper lifetime?

Called my supplier today and was told Quadzilla is done. Try going to there site and it is dead. No way to get warranty or support for there products. This is a shock as they were a great tuner company. EPA is the reason because of there Duramax tuner allowing EGR delete programming from what I am hearing. Guess they figured it was easier to shutdown then fight. Really hope they come back as another company in the future.

I don't know anything about the product or company but I've heard/read their name mentioned here many times over the years. Sadly, the rest of the companies in a similar industry will be gone soon also. The economy prevention agency intends to crush all of them.

Companies will have to step up like the gasser market did in the past. It cost a ridiculous amont of money to do the testing for the eo stickers. I know AFE is in the process now for a bunch of 3rd gen products. It will add to the cost but hey if you want to play you are going to pay

I had good luck with Quadzilla stuff that I had on a 7. 3 years ago... ... ... ... ..... The EPA is going to kill off the companys that obama couldn't single handedly do in himself.

Corey,

I'd like for everyone to take it and make it their own. I think I got it from someone else some time back.

It's a shame since they made many other products other than anything that the EPA should be concerned with. I have one of their digital rail pressure gauges that is starting to have some minor issues. Guess I'm going to have to look at another brand.

Smarty is Staying, I just found this on their website.
M. A. D. S. Electronics SRL, an Italian company operating worldwide, has never sold tuners to the USA market with
emissions components delete -Middle Eastern- ("ME") software installed. The ME softwares are designed for
countries with no emission delete restrictions in effect. Our online disclaimer clearly states that these softwares are
designed for middle eastern countries only and are not intended to break any laws.
We have become aware that these ME softwares are being used in the USA market, contrary to their intended
purpose.
With respect for USA federal emission delete device restrictions, we have already removed all ME softwares
designed for non USA applications from our website.
Additionally, M. A. D. S. has voluntarily made the decision to change the software installed during the production of
tuners, intended for export to the USA, to prevent the ability to be converted to the ME tuning by the users of the
products.
Effective March 11 th , 2013 all Smarty downloaders manufactured, intended for export to the USA, will become
incompatible with all existing ME versions of software.
The development of this new firmware version for the Cummins 6. 7L products is still under progress but we're
confident to accomplish the task by March 11th.
M. A. D. S. Electronics SRL WILL persist to support our existing customer base. In our own tradition, we will continue
to lead the field, producing the cleanest, most powerful, emission LEGAL softwares available on earth.

HMMmmmm - dunno about the latest Smarty stuff as far as EPA emissions observance is concerned, but I guess all that extra smoke/soot my earlier Smarty generated was just a figment of my imagination... ;) :)

There's more to emissions non-compliance than simply removing OEM hardware... ;)
