This is my luck-----So I got to try the 0-30-60-100 quadzilla last week on my truck and I was impressed! I only got to use it for an hour but it was long enough for me to decide I needed one. I ordered it last Friday and received it this Tuesday. Finally got a nice late afternoon to install it yesterday. I got the underhood connections done, modified the blanking plug for the clutch pedal to accept a grommet and routed the wires in the truck. I decided to check the box out before mounting my switch/box. That was a smart move. The box did the correct 4 green flashes but wouldn't switch between the colors with the switch. I checked and re-checked all my connections to no-avail. I got the quadzilla guys on the line and they basically had me re-check all the connections, check for pushed pins, loose wires, etc... . their final verdict... . after 30 minutes on the phone (99% of that on hold)... . must be the switch because the truck idles/runs fine with the box hooked up. They say the will ship me a new switch, I ask for a box too just in case but can't get a definite answer as to whether they will send that too. Anyway, I tell them my shipping info and hang up. 5 minutes later I realize I should have asked them to overnight the stuff as I had paid for 2 day shipping on the kit and now it's installed and doesn't work. I called back and ask to have it overnighted and they tell me (after 10 minutes on hold) that they already shipped the stuff UPS and it's gone. WOW, UPS in Texas is much more efficient than in CT. I have a hard time believeing it was gone. I asked what they shipped and was told the girl who originally helpes was busy and I could hold to find out... I was tired of holding... ..... Looks like I have to wait to have fun until UPS shows up at my door.

Overall-very impressed with the quad that worked. Not so impressed with the phone service.

Anyone else have any problems with the "switch"?

I've been on the phone with the Quadzilla team more than a few times, before and after the purchase. I have only been on hold once, and I didn't wait too long. I decided to call back.

In their defense, they are probably receiving high call volume due to their new introduction.

I've already decided to upgrade to the 140 Xz box. I never use the 30 setting any more (2 weeks). I just *hope* I have the self control not to roast my clutch with the top setting :D

You'll really like your box. It made my truck drive like it should. Now if feels like something is wrong when the box is off. I guess not enough fuel and timing :)

The only problem I had with the switch was not measuring properly. I ended up with three holes in my steering column to mount one switch.

I am afraid I'm going to wear the switch out prematurely, as I leave the box "off" until the truck is fully warmed up.

DC sent a grey unit to the parts counter based on my serial #??? My interior is Taupe.

They also can't figure out the part number for the automatic transmission pass-through grommet.

Go figure. Dealers and their parts departments.

I don't doubt they are busy as heck. I'm just anxious to get it working... . you know that feeling! The test ride I did with it really impressed me. New toys!

I will look into this so that I can figure out what went wrong on our part. Just by the sound of it, I am willing to wager that you called somewhere around 4:00pm central time. If that is the case, UPS was probably here and they were scrambling to get the part on the truck. That is no excuse for them putting you on hold forever, but I don't know the whole situation.

The good news is that you were at least able to diagnose the problem over the phone. We are very unique in that if you had any other product you would not know why you weren't getting the power levels to change.

I know it really stinks that you got a bad switch, but we will do everything we can to make you happy. I will find out how they shipped it and if it is going to be a while I will overnight you one with Sat. delivery if UPS offers it.

My dealer said it was a "non-service" item an couldn't be ordered.

I went to the local autobody shop and bought a 1. 75" body plug that fit

the hole.

Thanks for the info. I'll let the parts guy figure that one out on his own. :-laf

Yes, the switch is a 4 position rotary.

THanks qzilla, I wasn't knocking the fact that you guys were busy, I completely understand. You guys delivered early on the box and were helpful in diagnosis of the unit yesterday. I appreciate you looking into this. Again, I was very impressed with the unit overall. Great response, smooth idle, easy install.

Ok, i figured out it is a knob. has anyone tried getting the cubby hole under the HVAC for the electric shift T-CASE and mounted the knob there?

I beta tested that box for Quad and I had a switch that didn't work right as well. It did switch but didn't go to all the levels and would kick between levels without me changing the knob. Quad was great to deal with. I sent an email alerting them to the situation and he called me back personally in less than 2 hours. Had a new switch in two days. This is for beta testing... . I wasn't even a customer at that time. I've talked to them 4 times over the last month and have never been put on hold. Good people to deal with in my opinon.

Had a question when I installed mine and response was quick, I fixed my mistake and plugged it in correctly and have been loving it ever since. product and service is more than excellent.

Ok, it looks like you called when UPS was picking up. When you called back they were still loading the truck and your switch had already been loaded. You spoke with Misty and told her you had an important event this weekend... so.

She helped unload the truck yesterday and re-shipped your switch overnight. She said you sounded disappointed and she could not handle that.

So according to your tracking number you have a switch on your doorstep.

I had nothing to do with it, but next time you talk to Misty you might give her an atta boy! Oo.

I will be pming your tracking number to you.

I will absolutely do that. Thanks again for the great support/backing of your product. It's rare on the outside to find that responsiveness... but I have to say that those who are recommended on TDR always seem to come through. :)

This could be it:

Part# 56051052AA Like $15. 80

That should be a bezel for only the 4x4 electric shifter (no heated seats)

will the the early 2004 48re hold the 140 mode with no load and on flat ground? my dad is looking to upgrade his truck from the chip he has now.

how does the 100hp mode compare to the edge

I don't have gauges, so I towed at 30 the other day with a good sized load on flat roads. Respectable power increase that got me up to speed faster and I passed vehicles way easier than without it. Overall, not too shabby.

It is my eventual goal to be able to tow at the 60 or maybe even 100 level through the mountains. Right now, I'm patiently waiting for the qzilla gauges to come out so I can start upgrading turbo(s), injectors, exhaust, clutch... :D I know there are obviously other gauge packages out there, but I'm so impressed with the way they handled the testing and release of this box, that I want their gauges- sight unseen- as long as it's not too far out on the horizon.

CATCRACKER,

My BDDL will slip my transmission on extreme, (130), if I get on it very hard. Needless to say, I don't run it there. Performance mode, (90), is about the limit.
