Question about 02 DMAX

Alright gentlemen, my neighbor has a 02 DMAX Allison 3/4 ton 4X4 with 80K miles. The truck is used very conservatively pulling a 6K trailer four to five times a year.



The engine is using 1 Qt of oil every 7K miles (Delo 15/40), is this normal?. I think it is.

I don't know why he's going so long between oil changes, the wing nut is "unreachable" at times. I guess that's why I couldn't reach him when I tried to get him to buy a cummins .



He's like I used to be a die hard GM guy!!!!!

Actually I can't take the credit for that wav file. It's a second gen truck. I should do mine. My 5" straight pipe kicks.

My oil consumption is 0 at 5000 intervals with 168,000 on the clock.

My 01 would be right at the line at 7500 oil change and 118,000 on the clock. That was with about 50% towing. But, for a DMAX, that's probably normal. I'm surprised it's not more than that. :-laf
