I just had my 3rd CEL in 3000k, which the first two were taken care of with quick reflashes at the dealer. The CEL this 3rd time went away after about 5 restarts, but now I have a "coolant level low" warning coming on when I first start the truck. My question is, is there anything, besides something obvious like the factory not putting enough coolant in the system, that would cause the warning to come on? Im going to get it by the dealer next week, but it does worry me that without any signs of a leak that the coolant could be going somewhere it shouldn't.

Dave, my 2013 4X4 2500 did the same thing after driving to Oregon. Call the dealer and they said just add a little bit of water and watch it. Mine did it about 2500-3000 miles and now have 6,600 on it now without having to add anymore(so far). I heard that they sometimes need to “burp” a little bit when new maybe a little air in the system. Not sure if that’s true but I am still “watching” mine and so far so good. The dealer said adding a little water wont hurt the system. I think I added about a quart or less. I have been checking at the same time in the same part of the driveway where it sit when cold. Thanks Steve

I too had the low coolant light come on a few weeks ago. Had to add about a quart. I went ahead and bought a gallon from the dealer. He tried to give me the older 100k HOAT coolant to start with. LUCKILY I had looked around first and found the info on the new 150k OAT coolant. The mopar part number is 68163849AA for the 50/50 pre-mix.
Be sure to get the right stuff, as it is NOT compatible with the older stuff.

Craig, how many miles on your truck?? I was also told to get the right stuff. I was on a road trip to Oregon when mine went low and the local auto parts didn't have the new stuff. Just added a little water and was good to go.

Keep an eye on yhat coolant level,EGR coolers have been known to leak, sometimes alot. the shop i workin maintains a fleet of ISL,ISC and a couple of ISB have had 2 recent EGR cooler failures that flooded and locked up engines.
