'14 6 speed manual EB question

I want to mount a 7" wireless display for the B/U camera on my 29' travel trailer. Prefer to solidly mount it. There is a depression in the center of the dash right over the standard display that came with the truck. I removed the plastic cover and underneath are 2 torx screws. Look like good candidates to fasten a mount to. (with longer screws)
What are they holding? I don't want to remove them and have something fall out!

Those screws secure the faceplate around the evic screen to the dash. If you remove them you can tilt the facia plate back to access the radio/screen/nav unit assy.

Thanks for the answer.

That sounds good. I assume that a reasonably decent mechanic can do it and then replace them without creating a mess!

Damned Ram won't sell me a shop manual!

Thank you. What book is the PDF from? Is the book available to mere mortals?

You can buy the full workshop manual on TechConnect for about $140 or so. it's a clunky interface, but seems relatively complete barring circuit diagrams. Only works on Windows, but for Mac users out there I have successfully installed it in a VirtualBox Windows machine. With a bit of editing you can also get it to run off the hard drive, so you don,t need to carry the CD.

I ordered the 'manual' right after buying the truck. It I less than any Haynes book I have ever seen. Not worth $5 let alone over $100. Came close to returning it and DEMANDING a refund. Calling it a clunky interface is being kind!

I have not seen the manual sold by TechAuthority but it should be identical in content to what I and all the other dealer technicians use. The procedure I posted is right from TechConnect.

I certainly hope that you Pros at a dealer have better that what I got from TechAuthority. The CD the sold me is a joke. Right now we are away from home. When I get back I will upload it an send you a link.

Any way to take one out at a time and screw one long screw while the shorter original is still in place?
Probably depemds on how your mount looks
