Installed my pacbrake this weekend (pretty easy except for the computer connection) and have a question. .

i've seen posts where some of you reported that your brake "locked shut". Was this because of the valve that applies vacuum to the solenoid or was it some other problem? No matter the cause I think i can work around it on the side of the road with a hose coupler, bailing wire, and robogrips (depending on what failure caused the problem). I'm just curious as to the main reason for failure...

That happened to mine once and it was the solenoid for the vacuum valve. The little piston in it got gruddy and stuck. It was easy to fix, just took it apart and cleaned it up.

I had mine fail open and closed, both times it was a bad cylinder. When it failed closed I just pushed the cyl. rod back to the open position by hand. Be careful, it can be HOT!
