I notice that Carparts.com has a rear main seal kit listed for my '90 CTD... . the FelPro kit is $52. 35 and the Victor kit is 10. 63. Anyone ever used either of these? Cummins wants $75. 00 from Ma.

Thanks,

The seal from Cummins doesn't have any manufactureres name stamped on it. It's a teflon seal. It's a tough installation; I wouldn't cut corners on parts. You'll probably need a sleeve too.

Got a hold of Cummins today during lunch, they want 33. 45 for same seal kit. Ma's marking them up %100, not bad. I'll get it from Cummins. I know its tought, although my trusty Cummins manual implies that its a pretty simple repair... I guess most diesel fixes seem that way. I may take it to an honest local shop down the road a bit... they do good work and it needs ball joints, shocks and bushings anyway.

Thanks,
