I would think the best route/source would be to contact a certified Bosch dealer and ask for some help ..... I don't know if you'd need a CPL or some sort of part/pump number or not but it's worth a shot...

BTW, post it here if you have any luck.

Keep in mind that the marine versions of the VE have no AFC housing/components as this is an auto application component I believe.

pb... :D

Do you think we could get a "group buy" on a bunch of 335 marine pumps?

Also, to all you guys with auto's, How do you knock the dirt off your trucks?

Am I thinking outloud again?

A big horse VE huh? Bet if its not swap-able, maybe we could use parts from it and put them in our baby VE?? Greg, do you have any other info on this big horse marine VE, I've never heard of such critter? On edit: I think there is a link to Bosch on the link page. I bet you'd need CPL and or engine serial numbers for them to talk though  .

I sent one of our fellow members on a mission to locate such a pump as he knows his marine diesels. I gave him the application and he went to the source but returned empty handed. If you don't have the engine serial number your kinda lost in the dark and then at that you'd have to talk with someone that is somewhat knowledable in the area.

The marine pumps are not a bolt on as stated above. If you'd look into the VE pump manual you'd find more info than you'd care to know about "applications"

Ok... confession time... that was me.

I made one contact and got put off... sort of. I have another card or two to play yet.

Apparently, at least according to what Scott told me, the higher HP VE was on a Volvo Penta diesel rated at 300 hp.

BTW

The kind folks who are "in the know" about what parts fit our application and which do not will not out and out say cause they have done the R & D and it's right that they select who recieves this technical info.

Here's an interesting link I just found for those interested in persuing some miscellaneous Bosch information.

Most don't apply to us, but then again some do. There are some "how to's" mixed in there that could apply. I like the "service time" sheet that's in there.

If they ever come out with a Trivial pursuit game that has a Bosch diesel injection pump category, hope you are on Greenleaf's team... I know he'll be studying. :-laf :-laf

EDIT... and I stumbled across this in my Yahoo search... a previous thread that might be worth a look. https://www.turbodieselregister.com/forums/archive/topic/66964.html

I am also in the quest for more fuel!!!!!!

I have found out today that I don't have enough fuel. I have had my twins in for a little while and I finally got all of my gauges hooked up and no matter what we do I can only get 60psi of overall boost and 22 psi for the bottom charger. When I first posted some numbers I did have 60psi of over all boost, but I thought that my bottom turbo was hitting 32psi. I guess it must have been a faulty gauge. :{ :{ I need more fuel in a bad way. I wanted to break the 500hp mark that everyone is aiming for. I am going to attend a dyno day on the 15th, but it sounds like there is going to be some heavy hitters there.

Maybe I should stick to First Gen only dyno events that way I might be able to bring a trophy home. :D It does pull like a raped ape, but I wont know if I will be able to hit 500hp uuntilthe 15th. I need at least 20-50hp I think. Can we start a donation or something???????? Anyone have a few hp they could spare????? :-laf :-laf If I don't get it this time there is always the next time right?? I just might have to go back to the drawing board. I am going to watch this thread closely to see what everyone comes up with.

Stomp,

I will pledge 7. 625 hp to your cause. Send me your street address and I'll get a ups shipment going.

East Coast Jay

Ya but that's metric HP and you'll need to do the conversion ... ... :-laf... .

Stomp, you'll have to part with a couple of YOUR secrets to get the rest of the congregation up to par with you buddy... . :D:D... .

PB... .

Secrets

Ponci's Diesel Center, PDR, Bradley's Diesel Injection Service. Ask them I have no idea on what they did to my little ve pumped 160hp/400tq First Gen. :-laf :-laf I think Brad changed the spark plugs and did a tune up. He also added one of those big whistle thingys  . He did tell me that if I hooked up my propane again he would never help me out again. :-laf :-laf I told him I need all the help I can get. He said no!!!!!!!!!!!!! don't even think about it. :-{} I said ok find me some more fuel and he told me he was going to work on it.

Then I find out he is going to try some different injectors for the up coming dyno day. I asked him where are mine???? No answer so I told him you know they will work in a First Gen if we take the tops of my injectors and put the bottoms of the new ones together they should work real nice in my pickup. Topic of discussion changed real quick. :D

Just send all of the extra horsepowers to the shop and I will let Brad sort them all out and put them into my pickup. Charge all of the postage charges to the shop I just paid off my bill.

Stomp

Whine, whine, whine. Send all you can because i need a few for my truck. If anybody needs anything? Stomps credit is great! :D

Hey Brad, there are 3 sets of slightly tweaked injectors on the way down to you, 50, 100 & 150hp over stock 370's... . put the 150's in your truck and the 50's into Stomps..... I'd let Stomp have some of the 150's... . but I still haven't seen any pic's of the new twin turbo piping I sent down

Now I am whining

:{ :{ :{ Piers I will take some more pics tomorrow and send them right up. Is that fast enough to get some 150hp injectors?????????????? ;) Or you could just label the injectors wrong so Brad gets the 50's and I get the 150's. :-laf :-laf

Stomp

Stomp ya can't use those injectors unless you change the lines. It's not just the tips that are reworked. When they get there, look down the end of the 150's... . ya can see right thru it :--)

Jeremy.

I'll dyno against you for a dinner. Let me know where you want to eat and I will make the reservations. I'm around 50 hp short of 500 also. I bet you're closer to 500 than you think. My twins did not feel as strong as the USB but were actually 60 hp more.

Ron

Piers

If there is a will there's a way right? I had better get on the phone and see where I can get some lines made. I don't know why I didn't think of that earlier.

Ron your on!!!!! only if you don't head up to Canada and have Piers work his magic on your pump!!!!!!!!!! Ahhh what the heck your still on. I think we already have dinner reservations at the Cattlemen's Steak House when we get all done if that works for you. Now are you going to let me use my numbers using the water/meth or is it just straight diesel. I might have to hook up the propane again. Well I better stay away from the propane I do want to drive it home when its all said and done.

Stomp

I am going up to Canada, sorry. But don't worry, you've got more air and more fuel than I have. My pump is stock and I have smaller twins. You were 420 on number 2 before twins and head. I was at 370 before twins and 462 after. You are probably at 480 to 500 minimum. Piers is changing my injector lines and trying to fix my idle. I doubt that my truck is going to sprout another 40 or 50 hp from that. Don't get me wrong, I'd love it. But this p-pump conversion is nothing like an electronic pump. Cam, head, twins and a chip would be at least 550 on one of those. It's 462 on this. Still way better than the 195 hp motor i took out. Besides, I figure i owe you something for sending that stuff up that didn't work.
