Question About Peanut Oil???

A friend of mine owns a small restaurant, and he told me he has about 10 gallons of unused peanut oil that he wants to get rid of... . Can I run it in my 2003? Like I said, it is brand new unused oil..... ?

blend it in with your diesel expecially if you use it this winter. about 10-1 ratio.

if you have a place to store it. you can go up to 40% next summer. but don't use it if the temps get under 40'f or it could gel up on you.

Costco is selling 4. 6 Gallons of peanut oil for $47. 99. Sell it to a few people who are going to fry a turkey for Thanksgiving and buy regular diesel.

One thought came to mind as I checked out this thread. We used peanut oil as a quenching media in heat treating tool steel because of its "high flash point"! Personally, If I had a new diesel truck, I would buy Bio-Diesel and shed that peanut oil as fast as I could, unless you have a heat treating job that you need to do, or some turkeys to fry! GregH

Not sure about the 3rd gens but my truck loves processed peanut oil. Of course it likes cottonseed, sunflower, pig fat, chicken fat, soybean and canola too.

The best oil to fry turkeys in. Mmmm!!!Thanksgiving is coming! I have seen it turn into a semi-solid block in the jugs my garage in the winter.

I reckon the "key word" here is "processed". GregH

Yes sir you are correct. I have used non processed mixed with #2 with no problems before, unmixed I might be hesitant.
