Question about the new auto's, 48RE

A good buddy of mine is buying a 3500 qc 4x4 auto and is depending on me steering him in the right direction, as I own 2 CTD's now. (neither 03's)



My question is, I have a 47RE in my 2000 qc 4x4 and its the "soft mushy" stock auto.



Are all the new 03's 48Re's which are the upgraded auto, or do you have to ask/order it ?



Or do some of them have 47Re and how do you tell if it has the 47 RE??

47's are history and only the 48 is used. Will he be getting an HO? A coworker bought an S. O. against my recommendation - what a loser! He'll be sorry at trade in time.

He wanted a HO, but we can't have have those here.



You know, the snot nose little brats in Sac( the capitol) that created the 40 BILLION dollar deficit said no.



He's content just getting a new 03 or 04 CTD So .

The '03s built before 1/1/3 had 47's.



Beginning 1/1/3, it's all 48REs.



The Peoples' Republik of Kalipornia will get HOs for 2004, according to the information on other threads.



Tell your friend to go on down to the friendly Dodge Dealer and put in an order for a 2004 HO/48RE.



According to another thread here, they'll start building them in ~10 days.

not entirely true

Beginning 1/1/03, all HOs got the 48re. If you get a standard output (250hp) with an auto you still get the 47re. One of my customers just got his and it was built 3/28/03. He's kinda sorry he didn't know about the HO/48re due to poor dealer knowledge of product available and not knowing about the TDR as well.

I'd have to double check but I think my SO/48RE was built in 2/03. It's a CA model too.

Is anyone aware of the HP rating of the new '04 HO Diesel in CA? What about the other states?

Since I have dual residency, I'm opting on an '03 from TX or should I wait for an '04?
