I put a 16cm² non-wastegated housing on my turbo..... it is not really clear about what happens with the excess exhaust, if any. I have not driven the truck since I did the install (broken rear end parts) so I don't really know what to expect. I would think that the boost would be too high without a wastegate, but since there is never a mention of it in the instructions, or any posts I have read here, I assume it is ok? Let me know so I can take it back off before I drive it if an external watsegate is neccessary and I did not know about it. Thanks, CHAD

P. S. I know I keep asking new questions everyday, I hope I am not annoying anyone yet. I just don't want to do anything that will hurt or cripple my truck. Thanks

Since your truck is stock, I'd think you'd be just fine. Don't a lot of the first gen guys run 16 or 14 exh. housings without a wastegate.

I run a non-wasted 12 housing... It'll hit 45 easy with the comp on 5x5... but I usually keep it around 30-35. So far no problems... what will happen if anything? I don't know. Maybe blow a boot or something... I've run non-wastegated turbos for years on big rigs... never had any problem. Just my experiance.

16cm2 turbo housing

you wont need an external waste gate, youll be fine wth that housing. you definately wont like it if you stay with stock power, takes alot longer to spool up turbo. ive seen 36-38 psi with my fuel plate removed, and egts no higher than 1300 on a wot run with my 16cm2 housing. it definately helps with top end power, and once you get some more fuel to get that turbo spinning, lag will be reduced, but still will not be as good as stock. generally you will see a 4-6 psi drop in pressure over the stock housing. but it makes up in top end power.
