Question for any polaris ATV owners

Just curious if anyone else on the board owns a 2 stroke polaris (250 OR 400) I am having starter problems AGAIN with my trailblazer...

What symptoms are you seeing? Starters are a problem on the Polaris.

it's a 2000 trailblazer and the THIRD starter just began sometimes not doing ANYTHING (solenoid closes but no current draw at all, all wiring is FINE) sometimes it grinds a bit, sometimes it spins fine but doesn't kick out. If you tap it with a hammer enough to get the starter to spin and kick out then it just locks the starter. The thing starts perfect, first pull with the rope but not at all with the starter AGAIN

A few of my freinds have 2 stroke Polaris quads and they have had the same problem. I think you can buy a rebuild kit now. I own 2 Polaris quads both 4 strokes and no starter prolbems. I know on the 2 strokes I've looked at the starter is on the bottom of the motor, I think that's what is causing the problems. I think the starter is seeing too much moister.

The starter probably has water getting in it. Did you work on it before or take it to the shop? If you need some advice I will walk you through it. Good news is you probably won't have to buy anything.
