I have a question for those of you that run hot shots or transport using your truck or truck and trailers. I own a excavation business here in Arizona and during slow times which is now, I would like to either use my truck to run deliver trailers or use my truck and 25k lb gooseneck to do transports or deliveries. However I have searched the internet and called local RV dealers asking if they are in need of any sub contract work and have been unable to find anything. Could any of you point me in the right direction as how to get started in finding work in transport or delivery? Thanks in advance... . Adam

There is a guy in MI that transports all over North America. I think his nake is Mark C. Morris. He's been a big rigger for a long period of time. I will see if I have his number still.

Adam, you want to go after the manufacturers, not the dealers. The dealers are who order from the manufacturer, therefore its usually up to the manufacturer to get the product out. Sometimes you may find a dealer that may need something delivered but they will usually just call one of the manufacturers to arrange delivery. Also, don't forget you will need a DOT # ( if you don't already have one) and run a log book. I run trailers out of Oklahoma to here on a regular basis. Mark

Thanks Kwikspool that may be a step in the right direction. MMeier thanks your right on having the proper DOT # and registration, I already have all that because I haul around a 24K pound trailer so I have all that and the proper insurance to cover it. Just cant seem to get any work hauling. Thanks for the replies

Just for kicks you should go to your local Ford/Chevy dealer. Take your trailer with you and see if they need someone to hall their trucks to other dealers for dealer trades. :D :D :D :D
