Anyone running a H2E turbo

How have you managed to launch hard enough to get into the 12 sec. range without breaking your input shaft? I am also thinking about geting a new turbo and I think that the h2e might be the choice for me. I DO NOT want to get an hx40 and have the shaft break. The kwikkurt hx40 looks tempting but it is still a weak turbo. I want one that will reliably make 40 - 45 pounds of boost. I want badly to get my truck to about 450 hp on the ground but it needs to get me to work and back every day too. I am getting about 16 mpg right now and I don't want to go much below that. I live at 4500 ft elevation :( :( and turbo lag with my hx 35 with the 12cm housing is pretty bad without smoking much. How does the h2e with the bell housing compare to the hx35 with a 12 as far as hp and lag? How much did it cost? What is the origional application for that turbo? Thanks much for any help!

well, reguarless of what people say BD builds a good transmission. They do a treatment to make the input more durable. As far as breakage I was breaking a 5sp bout once a month before I switched to the auto. After that I have only broke one output shaft. There have been a few tcases also.

as far as the hybrid h2e, its deffinately for the 400/450+ club. Its comparable in lag to a hx35 with a 16cm2. I think the hx40 with the 12 would deffinately be faster but will support less power verses the h2e. The h2e is off the L10(10liter cummins) and was made to support 400+hp verses the hx40 was from the 8. 3 up to 350hp.

I can get both turbos so let me know if I can help.

How long is the rest of the auto transmission lasting? Like clutches, drums, bands, etc... ? I'm just wondering... . when (not IF... . ) I get to that level I want to be prepared for breakage.

Hey Matt. Well considering all the competitions I've done this summer(over 10 pulls and 10 times to the drags, and cosidering I'm not nice to my truck):) I've only had the one output shaft failer. Nothing else has failed in around 20k. Good luck.

That certainly is reassuring... . I thought that you would have broken a lot more stuff than that.

Good deal... .

Matt - wishing that MY6EATSV8'S transmission guy lived closer to me.

is your front door close enough? BD does mail order and has complete trannies available for every persons needs. Just send them you old slippin junkbox and get the same transmission as I have. :)

OH!! der.

I must not have seen that in your earlier posts... . I didn't realize that your transmission was from BD.

Very interesting..... people thrash BD left and right too... .

Definitely worth looking into, that's for sure.
