How do you keep the rain and stuff out when you are parked? Surely you guys aren't only driving when it is clear blue and 22 out. I was thinking of stacking my 95 but it rains here alot and I very seldom get to use the garage.

use coffe cans

i got curved stacks, 5", i throw a couple 5# coffee cans on them. Also use seal clamps everywhere you can that helps alot. otherwise the water washes the soot down then you blow it out all over the paint.

96' club cab long bed, 4wd, 5" stacks, no fuel plate, wanting for twin turbos and bigger injectors.

Someone out there makes the stacks that you dont have to worry about the weather. The water runs down through and out the factory bed drain holes. I think member Rob Thomas makes ( made ) them. Maybe send him a PM, see if he can help you out.

questions for stacks

STripp,

There are a couple of things you can do-

1] turn outs to blow them to the side, or blow the soot on somebody you don't like ;)

2] empty gallon plastic milk jugs to keep out the rain :--)

3] I 80 truck stop to get exhaust hats to cover miter cuts:cool:

4] park in a garage :D

5] let it idle for a while to burn out the water, then go slow to throw out the soot :-laf

ive been running my 5" miters for about a year now, with very minimial soot issues. when there are real heavy down pours i put coffee cans over my stacks.

Have yet to have a problem with rain. Have one drain hole at the lowest point under the bed. Have had rain get into the turn-out stack before. If the wind is blowing the right direction, you can still have rain get in and cause a shower.

i like those! there is a "y" pipe under there right? how did you get it to fit underneath? mine wouldn't without moving the tank.

the way its been explained to me is you have to wrap the one side of the y pipe (closest to the tank) with a heat shield or some sort of heat resistant tape.

Guys,

Do we have a Dollar figure on these pipes & installation. Pictures of the Y pipe heat shield & or tape would be nice. ;)

Mine was just under $600. Since I already had a 5" system, I didn't need any adapters to go to the 5". Can get some pics later, when the snow is gone. Still coming down.

2-5"x48" stacks

3-aluminized 90* elbows

1-y-pipe

some 5" flex pipe

some band clamps and 4 4- chrome clamps

Some spray cans of aluminum colored Hi-temp paint.
