Are you able to open and close your tailgate with the Truxedo all the way closed? The folks who installed mine said to drop the tailgate with the cover closed, but in order to close the tailgate, I must release the latch, close the tailgate, then close the Truxedo.

All of the Access covers show that you can open and close the tailgate without unlatching the cover. Saw a guy while in town on Sunday with a Truxedo and he can open and close his tailgate without unlatching the Truxedo. Which way is correct?

When I first installed mine I had the same question. I talked with the guys at Truxedo and they said it is a matter of personal preference. I had mine so I was able to open, but not colse the tailgate with the Truxedo latched. I just adjusted it down a bit any now I open and close the tailgate with the cover latched. Now the rubber flap sits on the inside of the gate instead of on top. Does that make sense?

So basically you pulled the cover up towards the front of the truck just enough so that you have a hairline crack between your tailgate and the back of the cover? Do you take a lot of water in this way?

Actually I did not move the cover forward I just lowered the cover down a bit (maybe 1/4"), but toward the front may be necessary I supposed depending on the original install. I don't notice that is take in any more water now with the rubber flap on the inside of the tailgate than with the rubber flap on the top of the tailgate.
