How far should the very tip of the probe extend into the exhaust stream, measuered from tip of probe to the inside face of the manifold? the instructions that came woth the probe say half the diameter of the header but that's gasser terminology plus I was sure I saw somewhere on here that the projection should be less, so I wondered if that was not the right info. Please answer if you have any ideas, I'll hoping to put the thing in early AM tomorrow. Thanks

Like Bob said right in the middle meaning in the middle of the exhaust manifold in the rear 3 cylinders, I measured mine after drilling the hole and set the depth after I had seen how far the nut went down in before I tightened it. Very simple

Arcticat-I put mine midway in the exhaust stream-no problems 1 yr later. Just don't bury it touching the bottom of the manifold-you will burn it up.
