My truck had aftermarket clearance lights on it when I bought it, and I noticed a few months ago that most of the lenses are cracked. I've gotta pull the headliner down to fix the wiring to the driverside, outer one, so I figured now would be the perfect time to replace them anyways. They actually appear to be made by Pacer and they look like their High 5 O. E. kit for chevy pickups. I wanted to go with a set of Recon's smoked clearance lights, but I'm not sure whats gonna fit. Unfortunately recon's lights for my truck have a mounting hole on either side, where as the ones that are on it now have a hole in the front and back. I'm trying to find something else that will fit so I can avoid drilling more holes in my roof. Would recon's lights for a 3rd gen. fit? I'm worried about the holes lining up and the lights themselves fitting the contour of my roof. Do they have a rubber mounting base/gasket?

Probably gonna have a hard time finding 2 aftermarket companies that have the exact same measurements... I can't speak for the 3rd gen stuff but I put the clear late model 2nd gen ones on my 02 and I love 'em...

Does anyone have a measurement of the mounting hole spaceing of the stock 3rd gen. lights? I'm guessing the Recon lights would have the same spacing.

Even if you get the right lights for your gen from recon, you'll need to put some clear RTV under them to keep them from leaking. They seems to curve a little more than the contour of the roof, leaving a decent size gap underneath them in the middle. Enough for rainwater to get in . Same thing goes for their 3rd brake light. You'll need a lot of clear RTV to fill in the gap in the top of that thing.

thats what I'm worried about. the ones that are on it now have like a rubber base on the bottom of them, and so far, I havn't noticed any leaks, so that rubber bottom must seal pretty well. Do the recon lights, irreguardless of what gen. they are, have a rubber bottom as well, or is it just the plastic lense/housing?

I got them about 3-4 months ago. It's a plastic base but it has a automotive-type foam gasket that goes under it. The late-2nd gen stlye fit my roof well...

OEM lights for an 02 are side to side. The Recon light match an 02 very well. I would still silicon the screws though when installing them. IMO you do not need to silicon the bottom due to the gasket.
