Ok my truck:

06 3500 single wheen 4x4

6 speed

quad race

GDP 392 plus Big line kit

Boost/Pyro in and fuel pressure guage next

cold air

4" straight with kitty

stock turbo and motor otherwise

last dyno: 711ft-ibs but who knows now that i have fuel so it could be higher



I am spikin my turbo in the high 40s as of right now in WOT at the higher rpms. i would like to get close to 1xxxft-ibs and was wondering if water/meth was goin to make my turbo make a big boom if i add a snow stage 3 kit. with the meth and the better combustion and increased cylinder pressures, is my boost gonna reach even higher and kill this stocker or can i put on the drugs and let it go?

With your stocker its ready to go BOOM now at that boost level, above 32 lbs and your playing a dangerous game. As far as trying to turn 100 lbs of boost, you had better put twins on it to get there, but who cares about high boost as long as whatever boost you make at peak boost is making it effeciently, therefore not exceding compressor map, thus you would be running hotter more expanded air into the motor, therefore higher EGT"s, more boost(as seen on the gauge, but not effeciently pushing cooler denser air in(expanded air). I could careless if I never see 100 lbs of boost, because I know what I do make is effecient. You would also need studs & fire-rings on the head above 54 lbs of boost and up for the headgasket to live. Good luck.
 
i have been tossing around the idea of running some water meth in my truck just to get the initial WOT egts down. also maybe to give me alittle more power. i have had no experiance with water meth so any info would be apreciated.
 
by no means am i trying to get anywhere 100ibs of boost. im just wondering if my boost will jump from 40s to higher than hell if i added water meth furthering the possibility of a big BOOM!! any other comments?
 
I have been running the Snow kit before he became a big shot, bought it from him on E-bay! My EGT's never get high compared to what I read here. My max boost right now is 46 psi but waiting for my Turbo to get upgraded to stainless by Dave at HT.

The biggest issue with the stock turbo when you turn it up like that is that you cannot get enough air out of the motor. I can tell you a way to do this cheap but it may take the turbo out from errosion.



If you buy a T03 turbo flange, 3/8" or 1/2" and put it between the manifold and turbo with longer studs when the wastegate opens it will vent all 6 cylinders, then your boost will drop to a normal level. I've done this on another truck so I know it will work. As for the stock turbo, I've seen a stock HX-35 last for years running in the 40-45 psi range but there is no telling what the drive pressure was.



Also took that same truck and made 446 on #2 and 496 with a Snow Water/Meth kit... ... ... along time ago! 97' 5 Speed, tuned by me, 370's and an 18. 5 housing on a stock 35... ... boost was at 46!

i also dont plan on running more than say 50 psi. right now its wastegated at around 42psi. i may take it up to about 45-48 but thats really all i want to run. i do have an aftermarket turbo.



im looking at getting the stage 2 kit, and pluming it into my washer fluid bottle. any other suggestions for my setup?

I bought a snows kit and decided at the level I'm at, I decided not to use it, so I sold it, I've decided to purchase an ATS water boy kit, simply for the cooling effect, I was too worried about the Methanol being to volatile and maybe detonating, being its a power adder, especially in trucks with ramped up cylinder pressures, I'm afraid of a spike going even higher. matter of fact I was going to post a thread and see if anyone was running waterboy and how they liked it. If any of you get Diesel Power mag. there was an article in there last month on the "Injectibles" and from that I decided a mildly modified truck as in almost no mods would be ok for meth/water, but highly modded trucks water only. Just my 2c
 
The waterboy is only a copy of Snows kit, guess you guys didn't realize that they use to carry Snows stuff... ... nothing new here!



You guys run what you want, doesn't matter to me! I've got Matt into this stuff back in 03' and have R&D'd it to death, still run it to date and will add it to the next truck too.

now how would straight water injection help me besides the cooling? will it raise my boost even more or maybe lower it/cool it to where i wont get a boom?
 
Drasko the straight water comes in under a high pressure nozzle, so atomization is extremely fine, the water cools the incoming air charge and makes it denser, when the water and hot air mix it creates condensation style of mist as to being very fine this lowers egt's. where the methanol you have to be very careful with, you could use the Snow's kit to spray just water and NO methanol, I just kinda like the water-boy myself.
