I was wondering those of you that have o ringed your heads, whether its a single or double o ring, did you use the stock thickness gasket?

Basically I am just wanting to see who stuck with stock compression ratio and who dropped it?

Also when replying please state ETC or ETH, and any pros or cons you saw when lowering compression.

Thanks

If you don't feel like saying publicly, then feel free to email me.

double "o"ring--one in block and one in the head---copper gasket of oem thickness---auto(ETC). . Performance Diesel. . chris

Thanks... .

I believe Floor It and myself are gonna sweettalk Nowel into stopping by and performing his magic with his tool on both our trucks. Still in the planning stages tho. Thats the reason I am curious.

As of right now I intend to use the stock thickness gasket and also use studs. Hopefully that'll hold me over for a while.

Anyone else got any input?

Kat I think I'm going to increase the gasket thickness to lower my compresision ratio. I'm not sure on the o-ring thing, still talking to Nowel about this and I'm going to talk to a guy here that has done alot of o-ringing and see what he thinks. Oh ya,I'm a ETH :D :p

Floor It... . if you're going to play with big boost, high hp you'd be slightly amiss if you don't oring---since the tool may be right there it would be worth it ----Kat do Floor It a favor and make him do it even if you need to borrow his truck for a so called parts run:D:D..... chris

Using studs as opposed to the stock bolts has been something I worked on for a few hours one day and feel the idea is good one. I never identified a compnay that could/would make a good stud system. I looked into ARP and others and they did not have an off the shelf systems yet.

I was looking to get something in the 240,000-260,000 psi range for studs. Anyone come up with a good company supplying this yet with those bolts type specs? I think the factory stuff is less than 190,000 psi.

Don~

Chris I am with out a doubt o-ringing,just dont know which way. Nowel and I were talking about a few different ways to do it thats all;) I'm also going to use studs too.

Ya ya the only time my truck will see your tail lights is when its on that massive trailer of yours. ;) And I must say my truck feels right at home on that trailer.

Did you ever get those pics developed? I wanna see my lightening shots. . LOL
