Question of Power

I drove my friends 01, wow does it run good!
What did they do to the newer engines? My 99 does not run this good and was wondering what I need to do to keep up with his.
Went to the dealer yesterday and they didn't have a clue. They did reflash my ECM for "more power" and I think it might have helped some.

I should have mentioned that the 01 is the same as mine except it has the higher gears and the stock 265 tires.
I know there are lots of expensive bombing methods... I just want the power his 01 has at 500 miles. Did he just get a "good" one or is there something more to it?

I haven't been around here for about a year. What happened to HVAC? Is he in jail for traffic offences commited in that bombed Ram or what? I still see a few familiar faces here and lots of new rattle lovers.

Rick, He might be a lttle faster than you if he has the 3:55 gears. Plus your 99 is 215/420 while your friends is 235/460, that might be why. Regards Pete

Pete, My 99 sales catalog states horsepower/torque for the 99 auto @ 215/420 and the 5 speed @ 235/460.
My trucks final drive ratio with the 285 tires is 3. 73 give or take a bit. It came with 245's stock. So we are real close there.
