After two years, my oem batteries went south. I replaced them with Interstate WorkAHolic's. My question is they are 675 cold cranking amps and the oem ones were 750cca. Why are they rated less? They are for Cummins Rams and they fit perfectly. Is using slightly lower cca's OK? Thanks for any help!

Whats the part # on them?? I am guessing its a C27 or C27F?? They are good batteries and should be able to tackle the cummins for many years if you take care of them properly. I run a route for Interstate and have been reffering people to the 27-60 becuase its the SAME battery as the workaholic but it has more warranty. When mine go south I am going with Red Tops mainly becuase the one is my car has been great(Even broke the hold down and fell on the header and rode home that way) It looks like all hell now but works fine. Snyder,
As long as you don't venture up here to the great white north where the heaters would have to cycle on a regular basis you'll do fine with those batteries. Up here we generally install pairs of 1000 CCA batteries for the guys working in the woods.

The part number is C27-XHD. When it's cold, will I need to be more careful with start up and shut down cycles to save juice. I would have gotten red tops but the old man gets real good deals on Interstate batteries.

I didn't look at your Location before, but since you live where its hot a lesser battery is exactly what you want. Heavier CCA batteries don't take the heat near as well as Lower CCA ones. Keep them full of water!!

To late now but Interstate sells the red top under part # AGM-800-DT. I would not worry about your choice at all. I get really good deals on red tops is why I am going with them lol

When you say "Red Top" are you referring to Optima Red Top batteries? and if so, are they good to use?. My 2001 is only 6 months old, so i am not ready to change batteries, but when the time comes, what is the best to use?. I live in the northeast, and we have many below 0 days. Any suggestions?

EMDDIESEL, Some prefer the yellow over the red tops. The yellow is more deep cycle and costs about $40 more. I have red's and love em. They are a little smaller than OEM too. Best money can buy! IMHO
