question on bigger injectors

I want to put in a set of injectors instead of tapping the pump wire. I found a set of bosch 300hp isb injectors for under $300 are they worth it? And will bigger injectors stress the pump in any way I already had one pump go. And am a bit leary on tapping the pump wire.

You should look at the edge jammer injector nozzles if you don't want to spend a lot of money. I think you can get a stage 1 for under $200 and I have here good things about them.

Those are actually RV275 injectors, dont be fooled by the 300 claim, good for roughly 40HP



you can get True bosch 275 for 300. 00

I got a set of jammer 3's from Rip for around $250. Yes they are just the tips, Very easy to change out. And you can realy feel the added 100 hp.



I would'nt bother with the bosh 40 hp injecters. Good Luck.

Either will give you more fuel which gives you more power. Tapping the wire will give you cleaner power. Tapping the wire also enables you the ability to turn it off. You already have a fueling box,why dont you use it.

affraid of kilkling vp-44 again I tow the jeep to competitions about 2 times a month and am in paragon ( penn) about 2 times a month so you can see I am not home on weekwnds and competitions are held out of state like tenn, ohio . I dont wantt to be stranded because I killed the pump again. I installed a fuel pressure guage and it sits at 15 cruising and drops to 9 or so at wot. Can the vp44 die even if transfer pump is good?

I have read of VPs dieing with good LP pressure, but it is the exception. There are also stock trucks with VPs that have died.



I recently spoke with a pump builder that told me they receive a lot of cores with broken circuit boards. There are a huge amount of covers being used so product quality is not an issue, but they still have to be installed correctly.



Take care of your pressure and keep an eye on your investment. Start a fund for non-warrenty replacement parts and tires :-laf But most importantly, enjoy you truck to the fullest extent that you are comfortable with

Yes,they are edm's. They run very well and give great power. Smoke is easily managable. I have never run Mach injectors, so I can't compare, but I hear they run awesome also.



I haven't been on the dyno so I don't know if the HP claim is accurate but they sure feel like they live up to thier claims.

I can replace only the tips on my injectors? or will a set of dd1 be suficient for towing with a stock hy9 turbo? also looging into a goerend TQ converter and VB as I am not keping the truck for to much longer.

TDR classified and get some used. Saw many different types

last time I was there, some very nearly new, and new.

Marc[/QUOTE Marc wheather you add the power with injectors or tapping the wire,both stress a stock fuel delivery system,which is the culprit for the short life of the VP44. Either will require you to upgrade the fuel delivery system.

With concern about vp-44 life my diesel guy says bigger injectors actually help the pump live because its not fighting itself so much,it gives it pressure relief so to speak ,'but' he also says that with any aftermarket injector even the rv275s you must upgrade the lift system with at least a Holley blue pump and that he says has gotten vp-44s well over the 100,000 mile mark reliably. Just a thought!I've got stage v jammers on the wayBTW

I just installed my first injector / power upgrade this past weekend. Installed the RV275 injectors. The power difference is very small. I was hoping for more. NO actual dyno numbers yet to see if any REAL difference is there, but seat-of-the-pants says it is probably there, just small. I wanted to keep reliability in check, especially of the clutch, so I went small. Hopefully I get a mileage boost, but who knows.



I would recommend at least a mach 1, however, the price hike for the Mach 1's is more than twice an almost new (used) set of RVs for only 20+ more horse. That's why I went RVs at this point.



As far as fuel delivery, I already installed larger banjos and had seen a small increase in pressure across the board from those. You do not need a bigger / better fuel delivery system for just RV275s IMO. My pressures read basically the same as they did on stock injectors. If I added an Edge EZ, well then maybe I'd have to go with a Scotty Fuel Line system or similar, but the lift pump will continue to work fine at these very reasonable power levels. Of course, it is still a lift pump and susceptable to the existing problems we all know and hate!

An EZ will not require upgraded fuel delivery. The EZ can't fuel beyond the hard limits encoded in the ECM. So if you are fine BEFORE the EZ, you'll be fine afterward, too.



Now, slipping in some 100hp injectors is a different story entirely.

With the 275's you will get better mileage as long as your foot isn't on the floor all the time. A box and the 275's will push you to the safe edge of your drivetrains ability to handle the extra power. It is a slippery slope you are treading-think hard about where you want to end up power wise and buy the right parts once.
